An Aleatory Variable is an uncertain variable. Strictly speaking, in decision analysis, an uncertain variable is aleatory when it is explicitly modeled in stochastic (ie, probabilistic) terms. An uncertain variable considered sufficiently unimportant to be represented deterministically is referred to as fixated.
